T-Mobile USA, Inc. today announced the national retail availability of the highly anticipated T-Mobile myTouch 3G with Google Android Smartphone. T-Mobile announced their 2nd Android phone back in June. See also this myTouch 3G Review.

To celebrate the myTouch 3G arrival, T-Mobile is aiming high and plans to launch an aerial spectacle in the sky over San Francisco.

Today at noon PDT, 100 skydivers, each dressed as unique personalities to reflect the individuality of the myTouch experience, will colorfully parachute in synchronized formations over the city.
Designed by HTC, the T-Mobile myTouch features a 3.2-inch HVGA touch-screen display and virtual keyboard, which orients automatically from portrait to landscape mode in most applications. The myTouch also features a 3.2-megapixel camera, a music player with a pre-installed 4GB microSD memory card, and enhanced video capabilities to make it easy for users to record and share pictures and videos, whether via e-mail, MMS or one-click upload to sites such as YouTube and Picasa.
The myTouch 3G mobile Web experience is supported by fast data speeds via Wi-Fi and T-Mobile’s 3G network.
The T-Mobile myTouch starts at $199.99 with a two year contract.
Five distinct accessory bundles will be available this month online, including a music pack with portable speakers and a bonus promotional card for Amazon MP3 downloads, and a fitness pack that includes a fitness belt and arm band — each allowing customers to further match the phone to their unique lifestyle.

Previously, on Coolest Gadgets, we talk about the LG GD900, a mobile phone with a transparent keypad. So how can I not report on Sony Ericsson’s Kiki, a phone with a transparent screen?
The reply is that I can’t, so here it is. The problem is that I don’t really have much information about this product, other than it’s got a transparent screen. I do know that the information can be seen on both sides, but I’m not certain if the print, when looked on the other side, is reversed. You may notice the lack of keypad buttons on the Kiki, but they will show up if the phone is on.
So, since that is all we have, let’s go to speculation. For example, can the user watch video footage on this thing? I mean, I didn’t realize that we can watch TV on a clear plate of glass now, but hey, technology gets better all along.
Also, is the clear glass screen a touch screen? I see three buttons that correspond to the balloon, mail, and clock icons on the screen, but that is about it.
So, now it is the time on Coolest Gadgets where we add comments. For example, is it possible that the transparent screen could become a standard for cellular phones? Chime in if you agree or disagree.

What you’re looking at here is the award-winning Lenovo X1 — as opposed to, say, the Sony Ericsson X1 — which is a triband EDGE handset Lenovo sells in China. Sometimes you have to give some to win some. Case in point, the Epoq EGP-PP01 projector phone. This device is the world’s first commercially available handset with a built-in pico-projector capable of splashing up Epoq EGP-PP01 projector phone with iPhone UIvideos and pictures up to 30-inches in size on almost any surface – a winning feature for sure.

But, the Epoq EGP-PP01 loses out on the originality tip by completely ripping off Cupertino. The world’s first projector phone uses a carbon-copy of the iPhone UI, and even uses the iPhone’s shutter animation when taking pictures with the 1.3 megapixel camera.

Can’t get enough of Sony Ericsson’s HTC-sourced superphone, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1? Of course you can’t. With a WVGA touchscreen display, WiFi, GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS wrapped in Sony Ericsson’s own panel-based UI, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is definitely a superphone that’s worth a look.

Smape has posted an extensive review of their Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1, complete with more pictures of the XPERIA X1 than we know what to do with. They’ve got both bases covered with the XPERIA X1 pictured in both Black and Metallic Silver finishings.

Notably, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1’s camera is said to be darn decent, and could even get better with some software-enhancements from HTC. Unfortunately, the XPERIA X1’s keyboard leaves something to be desired. The keyboard is a huge selling point for a device like the X1, so here’s to hoping that both HTC and Sony Ericsson can figure out how to make their keyboard more responsive and tactile before going official.

For us, we’ll take the sub-par keyboard the way it is, if it means we can get our hands on the X1’s quality-build. In fact, the UK might be getting the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 right quick.
