Gateway brings back business division with DT, DS-series desktops

In 2007 — right before Acer swallowed the firm whole — computer manufacturer Gateway sold their entire business lineup to MPC . Three years and one bankrupt MPC later, Gateway’s ready to give it another go with brand new business desktops, and some decently specced ones at that. The new Gateway DT-series mid-towers support up to Core i7 CPUs and 16GB of DDR3 memory alongside a 1TB hard drive, and wonder of wonders, the small form factor Gateway DS-series can hold just the same

Orange Music puts PC into guitar amp — ours is not to reason why

Now this is an interesting one. Classic British amp maker Orange Music had a bit of a surprise behind its booth at the 2010 Musikmesse show. The O PC is, well, a guitar amp and a PC rolled into one convenient package.

Lenovo C200 brings NVIDIA Ion 2 stateside for $499

If you’ve been patiently waiting on a low-cost NVIDIA Ion 2 system it looks like today is your lucky day since it looks like Lenovo has scored an early lead in unleashing the wrath of the new Atom / GeForce combo. Available sometime this month, the 18.5-inch C200 all-in-one isn’t going to replace that Core i7 rig for ripping through Command & Conquer 4, but its Intel dual-core Atom D510 CPU can handle the light productivity while its GeForce G210 GPU will automatically turn on — thanks to Optimus — to deal with some Spore or 1080p video. Unfortunately the C200 only has a single touch, 1366×768-resolution display and a standard integrated DVD drive rather than Blu-ray, but we guess we can’t expect much more for its appealing $499 price tag

HP rolls out Pavilion s5305z, s5350, Pavilion Elite HPE-190t desktops

HP may be getting ready to ” do amazing ” with its Slate , but last we checked it was still the biggest desktop PC maker around, and it’s now further expanded its offerings with three new models. Those include the Pavilion Slimline s5305z and s5350z, which are available with a range of different AMD processors and ATI Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce graphics, along with up to 4GB of RAM and a 750GB hard drive on the s5305z, or 8GB of RAM and 1.5TB of storage on the s5350z.

Intel’s Core i7-980X Extreme Edition hits a slew of new gaming desktops

Intel’s six-core, twelve-threaded Core i7-980X Extreme Edition has turned the hardcore gaming community on its head, and just about everyone is scrounging around in a (mostly futile) attempt to locate $999. For those in dire need of an entire system replacement, it seems that today’s the day to start looking
