Cameras and sensors attached to an Intel Connected Car will record data about your speed, steering and braking, and upon the event of an accident, forward those bits and bytes along to the police and your insurance company. Just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn’t it

Hyundai-Kia looking to beat Toyota in the automotive fuel cell price wars
When Toyota made clear its aim to release a hydrogen-powered fuel cell auto to the public in 2015 for $50,000, we asked the simple question of whether you’d buy that car for that much. The overwhelming answer was “heck no!” Hyundai-Kia is glad to hear it, and is taking this time to trump up its cheaper fuel cell technology. General Manager Byung Ki Ahn explains that his company’s tech does not require an onboard compressor and contains less platinum in the catalysts than Toyota’s, in theory meaning reduced cost and complexity
QIK admits Evo 4G launch problems after 20x increase on server load
While record sales are generally a desireable thing, that one-time spike in demand can leave service providers scrambling to cope on launch day. Evo 4G owners are well aware of this after noticing one of the handset’s flagship features — Qik video calling — was unavailable in the Android Market on Friday. After correcting the issue, Qik then had to pull the app after users experienced intermittent service failures resulting from what Qik calls “an unprecedented 20x” workload increase on its servers
