KlearKase joins booming Kindle waterproof enclosure market

You know a product’s taking off in popularity when new cases for it start dropping on a daily basis. So here we are, two Kindle cases in two days, only this one is klearly the feistier one. The KlearKase press release wastes no time in slamming yesterday’s M-Edge Guardian for being twice as expensive, three times as heavy, and presumably nowhere near as cool


Kindle gets waterproof case from M-Edge, begins its life acquatic

Check this slice of molded plastic out. The Guardian case from M-Edge claims to be the world’s first waterproof flotation device for the Kindle , allowing users a “hands-free” reading experience whether they’re in the bathtub or the pool. Resisting aquatic incursions to a depth of one meter, the Guardian comes with three internal buoyancy chambers, a dual hinge, a four-latch closing system, and flexible button cutouts to keep the keyboard useful.


Pandigital Novel goes on sale, hopes you’ll take a look

It may not be the color e-reader that turns Amazon’s Kindle and the B&N Nook into relics, but Pandigital’s Novel is actually one of the more interesting me-toos to surface. Boasting a 7-inch LCD, 1GB of storage space (not to mention an SD / MMC card slot), integrated WiFi and access to the Barnes & Noble eBookstore, the Novel is now on sale in at least a couple of places


Acer LumiRead L600 shows up under glass at Computex

Acer didn’t make any sweeping announcements at Computex like it has in previous years , but it did show up with its new LumiRead L600 e-reader . While it was under glass for the entirety of the trade show, we were able to snag a peek at the ultrathin reader, which looks strikingly similar to the Kindle with its 6-inch, 800 x 600-resolution E Ink display, joystick and 37 key QWERTY keyboard.


Kindle 2.5 update pushed back a few weeks for some ‘small adjustments’

Well, it looks like you should count yourself lucky if you were among the first few to get the Kindle 2.5 firmware update — Amazon has now announced that it’s pushing back the update for everyone else in order to make some “small adjustments” based on user feedback.
