The “capacitor plague” issue of the early 2000′s has started to resurface, not thanks to another batch of bogus orange-hued electrolytes popping free, but this time thanks to the release of documents relating to a three year-old Dell lawsuit. As we reported earlier this week , those docs show that Dell asked customer service reps to deny there was any problem with their motherboards, telling them to pretend they’d never heard about the issue and to “emphasize uncertainty.” Now, Dell is responding to the latest flare up — sort of

We’ve been moaning about middling AIO performance for a while now, and outside of Apple’s spendy iMacs , not many have stepped up to the plate with equivalent grunt to what you might be able to splice together with a separate case and a bit of elbow grease. That won’t stay true for long, however, if Asetek’s prototype gets picked up by one of your favorite vendors. This liquid-cooled beastie — which proudly proclaims it has the same profile as the iMac at 58mm in thickness — is capable of powering and chilling both a 2.66GHz Core i7-920 and a GeForce GTX 280M
iMovie for iPhone gets a cheeky hack for jailbroken 3GS, runs well-oiled
Not feeling hot about the trouble – prone iPhone 4 , but still tempted by its optional iMovie app? Now you have a choice! Turns out to run said app on other devices (including iPod touch, supposedly) running iOS 3.0 and above, all you need are a jailbroken iOS device, iMovie for iPhone from the App Store, and two quick edits in the app’s info.plist file — change minimum system version to “3.0.0″ and front-facing-camera to “false.” Sounds easy enough, although we’ve yet to see the hacked app actually running on devices other than the 3GS demoed in the video after the break. And sorry, Redmond Pie’s already confirmed that this sucker doesn’t work on the iPad..
Fujitsu Lifebook TH700 brings convertible tablet magic at a more affordable price
With a 2.26GHz Core i3-350M processor and a $1,149 asking price, the Fujitsu Lifebook TH700′s no netvertible , to be sure, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a tablet with more bang for the buck. Near as we can tell, this svelte 12.1-inch convertible’s built on the same chassis as the Lifebook T730 we saw last month, with half the RAM and a slower CPU but all those lovely goodies intact
Expansys becomes exclusive retailer for Huawei S7 Andriod tablet
Huawei’s Android-based, Snapdragon-powered S7 tablet certainly managed to impress at Computex earlier this month, and it looks like you’ll soon be able to get one yourself — UK retailer Expansys has announced that it’ll be the first to carry it and, for the time being at least, the only place to get one. Somewhat curiously, Expansys lists a 768MHz Snapdragon processor, not 1GHz as we had heard before, but the rest of the specs are right in line
US Cellular adds HTC Desire and BlackBerry Bold in August, teases BlackBerry 9670 for ‘later this year’
We were extremely close to cramping our sarcasm muscle with all the faux excitement we had to drum up for the 3.2-inch Acclaim , but US Cellular has now come back with word that it’ll soon count HTC’s Desire among its roster of phones. The Desire, which is mooted to be coming to other smaller carriers like Cellular South, will debut in August alongside the BlackBerry Bold.
