Toshiba ships Core i7-equipped Satellite P505 gaming laptop, all 18.4-inches of it
Looking for the most gargantuan laptop money can buy? How’s about the biggest laptop that the least amount of money can buy? Toshiba’s Satellite P505 — a machine we spotted briefly at CES this year — has now been put on sale over at Microsoft’s own webstore, complete with an 18.4-inch LCD (1,680 x 945), a 1.6GHz Core i7-720QM processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory, 500GB SATA hard drive, Windows 7 Home Premium, a DVD SuperMulti drive, ExpressCard slot, integrated memory card reader, NVIDIA’s GeForce 310M (512MB), four USB 2.0 sockets and a beastly 12-cell Li-ion battery.
Wi-Fi Alliance and WiGig sync up for 60GHz WiFi
We already heard that Hitachi, Panasonic and Toshiba would be delivering 60GHz wireless products in the latter half of this year, but it looks like a whole heap of other companies will be as well after this bombshell drops. Toshiba NB305 and HP Mini 210 to be upgraded with Atom N455 CPUs and DDR3 memory
A little bit of Euroland investigation this morning has revealed signs that Intel’s upcoming 1.66GHz N455 and 1.83GHz N475 Atom processors are close to making their official debut. Netbook Italia spotted the official Toshiba website posting up an NB305 -10F model a little prematurely — a page that was promptly yanked, but not before our amici were able to note the inclusion of the DDR3-compatible N455 CPU, a gigabyte of RAM, 250GB hard disk and otherwise unchanged specs. The expected price for that netbook is noted at €350 ($467), which is also the price at which the upgraded HP Mini 210 — spotted by German outfit nDevil — is listed on Amazon.de.
