Displax film could turn nearly any surface into touchscreen, make your keyboard irate
Light Blue Optics already blew our minds up with its touchscreen -creating projector, but it looks like Displax will be the one to really turn the touchpanel into a modern day commodity. The Portugal-based company is trumpeting a new polymer film that can be stuck onto or just under glass, plastic or wood in order to transform a vanilla surface into one that responds to touch and airflow. Furthermore, the tech can be overlayed on curved panels, and it also plays nice with opaque and transparent surfaces

Intel’s Atom-powered home energy dashboard concept gets itself a website, no closer to retail reality
If you recall all the way back to last week — yes, it’s a bit of a blur to us, too — Intel CEO Paul Otellini brought to his keynote an Atom-powered home monitor system, demonstrated by him and his rockstar compadre Craig . It was actually quite impressive, and thankfully Intel’s gone ahead and launched an educational page for the Intelligent Home Energy Management Proof of Concept.
Lenovo set for January launch of Pine Trail-packing S10-3 netbook and S10-3t multitouch tablet
It’s been awhile since Lenovo last updated its IdeaPad line, the S10-2 dropping over the summer, but we’re hearing that the third iteration of the platform is set to be unveiled in the very near future. The model we spied at the FCC last month is confirmed to be the S10-3, possessing Atom N450 (Pine Trail) internals, a 10.1-inch screen, WiFi, 3G, and integrated GPS. More interesting is that there is an S10-3t model coming as well, a convertible tablet version which you can see the underside of above, thanks again to the FCC.

There could only be two reasons for why we got a bit excited upon the discovery of this Asia Pacific-only, $1,415 Fujitsu UH900 in Hong Kong: one was the sugar rush from two custard tarts earlier in the day, and two was the speech bubble overload on this smartbook laptop thing. We quickly sobered up when we heard about the two-hour battery life — more pessimistic than Fujitsu’s own press release, which promises three hours in ECO mode. While there was no hands-on opportunity to try out the multitouch screen — a self-proclaimed world’s first on this form factor — we weren’t impressed by the overall glossiness and the dull side bezel, but kudos to the guy who managed to keep a straight face while revealing the petite battery life
Google Phone / Nexus One makes first Twitter appearance? (update: new pics!)
Look familiar? For a story that broke on Twitter it’s only fitting that the first reported picture of the mythical, magical ” Google Phone ” (AKA, Nexus One) would appear there as well.
