Tag Heuer Meridiist gets pictured, specs – Vertu killer from Tag Heuer is pricey

Just what will the up-town,uber-luxurious handset from the famous watch-maker look like? Well, a quick look at the spy-pics you see here show us that the handset has Vertu’s high-end handset squarely in its sights. With leather and metal embellishments complementing its angular design, the Tag Heuer Meridiist is an example of precision craftsmanship come to the mobile space.
Modelabs, the same people that helped Levi launch their mobile phone, is working with Tag Heuer to bring the high-end Meridiist to market. Unfortunately, like the Vertu handsets that we all wish we could afford (even if they do lack in the features department), the Tag Heuer Meridiist will run a hefty €3,400 to €3,900 (about $5,338 to $6,123) – depending on what option-boxes you tick off when you place an order for the pricey handset.
Rather than outfitting your home-office with plasma TVs, monstrous 30″ computer displays, and a high-end computer, you can buy $6,000 worth of Sapphire crystal display glass, 2 megapixel camera, 1.9-inch QVGA display, OLED 96×76 pixel secondary display, Bluetooth, leather, and metal. Actually, you won’t be getting your money’s worth. But, then again, if you’re in the market for this kind of handset, you probably have little to no understanding of technology and a bank account that’s outgrown itself.
